PT PLN (Persero) berencana membangun Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Surya (PLTS) + Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) di Nusa Penida, Klungkung, Bali, dimulai pada 2025 dengan total kapasitas 18 megawatt (MW). Proyek ini meliputi pembangunan PLTS+BESS berkapasitas 4,5 MW pada tahun depan, 10 MW di tahun 2026, dan bantuan hibah 3,5 MW. Selain itu, PLN akan menghubungkan sistem tiga pulau (Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan, Nusa Ceningan) melalui kabel laut 20 kV dengan kapasitas 2 x 20 MW pada 2029. Saat ini, PLN telah menyediakan pembangkit 14,45 MW untuk melayani kebutuhan listrik di Nusa Penida, dengan PLTS + BESS 3,5 MW yang telah beroperasi sejak Oktober 2022, mengurangi emisi CO2 di Bali. PLN dan pemerintah Indonesia berkomitmen mencapai Net Zero Emission (NZE) 2060 melalui pengembangan energi baru dan terbarukan (EBET) sesuai dengan Rencana Umum Ketenagalistrikan Nasional (RUKN).
